Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present some data and reflections on the translation into Spanish of literature from India, particularly contemporary literature written in English, which is part of the postcolonial fiction that is being created in diverse European languages from decolonized places or from the diaspora in the West. In this sense, the author reflects on her own experience in translating Vikram Chandra and Manju Kapur, starting from two primary premises: the responsibility as intercultural mediator of the person who translates this kind of literatures and the documentation challenges that these translations involve.
