Abstract

The translation of dialogues in literary works and for film subtitling are two tasks which require different techniques and have rules for their formal presentation which in the case of subtitling have to do with the constrained nature of the audiovisual text. This article compares some aspects of both types of translation taking into account the rules normally employed in Spain for Spanish.
