Festschrift aus Anlass des 50jährigen Bestehens des Instituts für Übersetzer- und Dolmetscherausbildung an der Universität Graz / Festschrift on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Translating and Interpreting at the Graz University.

Abstract

This festschrift presents recent research results and new trends in Translation Studies both from the Graz Institute of Translating and Interpreting and from the international translation community. The editor’s principal aim was to guarantee the thematic coherence of the festschrift and thereby set the stage for wider research perspectives in Translation Studies. Interdisciplinary viewpoints are presented; the boundaries of traditional translation notions are questioned and redefined from a post-modern view. The teaching perspective plays an important part and ready-to-use translation models are discussed. Because of its multidisciplinary character, the publication is aimed at a widely varied audience: translation and interpreting scientists, translation students, translators and interpreters.
