Abstract
The article focuses on sight translation. Several interpreters, researchers and teachers think that sight translation is a perfect exercise during interpreter training, because it is a transitional stage between written translation and oral interpretation. Due to the professional context of interpreting and the importance of written texts within that context, it would be expedient to redefine the role of this exercise during training.
