The book contains a theoretical and a practical part. It is a kind of encyclopedia of theoretical backgrounds of interpreting and translation and a description of different general types of exercises for those who want to become a professional translator or interpreter. In the book there is no orientation to one foreign language: the examples are given in Russian. The idea of the book is that the general laws and rules of translation are the same for all languages.
