Arrojo argues that the concept faithfulness should not be used with respect to the source text, but with respect to the interpretation of that source text by a certain community at a certain point in time ("interpretive community"). According to the author, this interpretation is influenced by the community's conception of literature and translation as well as the function of those concepts in that community.
