This selection of essays, which were written over a couple of decades, shows how Literary Studies and Translation Studies may be combined in various ways. The essays range from translation theory to philological approaches to translation, studies of ideology and of motifs, studies in literary influence, and an exploration of what may happen when a written narrative is turned into a film. This book usefully brings together past essays by Pedersen, some of which have been revised or expanded for this collection.
