The author tells us the story of Irène de Buisseret, who lived as a hermit and who did not leave many traces. Irène de Buisseret, who worked as a translator in Canada, left us however a literary work, full of seriousness and humour, great intentions and fantasy. De Buisseret did not translate much; only two storybooks for children and one philosophical novel. Apart from that, she wrote her masterpiece, a translation manual. This article presents an overview of Irène's work with a special focus on the Guide du traducteur.
