Abstract
This paper deals with the following five main questions: 1. How does a neurolinguist (who is not an interpreter) see the work of interpreting? 2. How can his field of research shed light upon interpretation? What does he expect interpreters and interpretation to bring to research (methodology, way of looking at some processes, interplay between practice and theory) 4. What is the significance of neurolinguistic studies for interpretations? 5. What are the possible developments in interdisciplinary research? Items 1 to 3 have been dealt with by Franco Fabbro, while Laura Gran has written sections 4 and 5.
