The identity of any notion is firmly rooted in its culture and cultural background. The influence of culture in the structure and lexicon of its language means that every statement in any language has its local colour. Yet today we have internationalization. The complexity of communication, both in scope and quantity has had its impact, and has also made interpreting and translation crucial facts in the world community. Lately, translation has come to the fore in discussion in Iran, whereas interpreting goes largely unheeded. In this article, the author focuses on some important aspects of interpreting, as he knows it as a teacher and practitioner of it in Iran.
