This edited volume compiles thirteen contributions of people translating either into French or into English. It tackles issues such as the considerations on translators’ choosing to emphasize either the archaic or the contemporary nature of Shakespeare’s plays, translators’ interference and the rendition of alexandrines of French classical theatre. More general translation issues such as the advisability of, and problems in, translating concepts or wordplay are also tackled.
