This volume contains articles concerning linguistic, communicative, cultural, educational and cognitive aspects of translation and interpretation from friends, colleagues and doctoral students of Christiane Nord. The subjects range from translator/interpreter training, over the issue of loyalty and the benefits of error analysis, technical tools, theoretical instruction and contrastive descriptions of selected subjects in the language pair Spanish-German, up to modelling translation competence, translation as culture, Bible translation, and new challenges of localization, multimodal texts and variation.
