With this volume Alberto Álvarez Lugrís wants to shed light on the phenomenon of false friends. First he places it in a theoretical context. He defines and delineates false friends against the background of definitions by other authors such as Debyser (1970) and Roey (1985). He gives an overview of possible classifications of false friends and then proposes his own typology of false friends. The appendix contains a corpus of false friends English-Galician.
