Abstract
The article discusses text comprehension in translation by analysing the videotaped TAPs of three students of translation (with varying degrees of professional experience) and comparing the students' comprehension strategies with their translation products. The aims are both theoretical and pedagogical, i.e. to develop a small-scale model of text comprehension in a given situation and to increase the students' awareness of their own processing.
