Abstract

This paper concentrates on the canonization of imported literature in a system where a sudden change of norms takes place. This study is restricted to a few American authors and to the two decades following the end of World War II. The group of writers chosen for the investigation has one thing in common: they are writers whose books were political by calling for social change, and who took a stand on the ideological controversy between capitalism and upcoming socialism from the thirties to the sixties.
