Abstract

The articles in this book are divided into three main sections. The first deals with text and discourse. The second with interaction and cognition. The third section looks into empirical approaches to accessing the translation process. The topics discussed range from translational competence, the translation of noun-compounds, the linguistic aspects of translation processes to the difficult task of the non-professional interpreter and other topics.
