Abstract
The topic of this paper is professionalism. A major interest of every translator or interpreter is getting ahead, being a success. All translators who want to earn a living from the profession are concerned about making the most of their skills and abilities. As the author notes in this paper, one way to increase such opportunities is by conveying a professional attitude to the client. She gives several suggestions as to how improve professionalism: being yourself, knowing what you are doing, being honest, accurate and neat, using a separate phone line for business when working at home, and other tips.
