Abstract
This article explains which translation norms have been imposed on bible translators throughout the centuries and how and why translators have handled them. Paragraph one sketches which translations have been selected to infer the norms. Paragraph two describes the translation discourse. The imposed norms are depicted and summarized in paragraph three. The fourth paragraph provides examples that illustrate how norms are handled and in the fifth paragraph an explanation is suggested.
