Abstract

The main aim of this study is to contribute to the development of a systematic approach to translator training. The author identifies a pedagogical gap in translation studies; he also draws attention to the translator's role in interlingual acts of communication. The empirical part of the study comprises TAPs from 18 subjects; nine novice students of translation and nine professional translators.
