In this book, ad hoc translation is described in its variants, defined and compared in communication theory and cognitive linguistic perspective with the other forms of translation. The ad hoc performance of translators and interpreters on the example of the French-German language pair provides information about the specific difficulties. It will put together the competencies required for successful ad hoc translation, and developed a teaching guide for the acquisition of skills that provide for the translation and interpreting services with added value.
