Abstract

In this paper, the author studies four English locative prepositions (‘in’, ‘at’, ‘over’, ‘on’) and their Spanish translations, in order to find out which prepositions are the most frequently used in English in a technical and scientific context. Next, the paper analyses the possible Spanish translations of these prepositions on a syntactic level, as well as their use in context according to prototypicality.
