Abstract
This article proposes a taxonomy for the study of translation. Its theoretical foundations are the work of Anton Popovič (particularly his Dictionary for the Analysis of Literary Translation, 1976), the polysystem theory, as well as systemic and empirical theory. The goal is to offer an operating and functional framework, in order to study the translation considered as an act of communication at the core of literary communication, which itself is considered as a subsystem of social communication.
