Interpreting quality is a multifaceted and complex concept resulting from a variety of communication situations and interpreting types, including conference, community, court, and signed language interpreting. It also comprises the views, motivations, and goals of the interpreters and all other stakeholders—speakers, event organizers, public institutions, trainers, and so on. The author discusses quality of interpreting in different situations, such as: the perception of quality, quality in the interpreting process, professional standards and codes of conduct, and quality assessment in interpreting training.
