Abstract
In this article, the author examines the topic “teaching and learning of interpreting”. The author distinguishes three fields: conference interpreting, community or public service interpreting and signed language interpreting. First, she discusses the teaching structure of each field. Then, she takes a closer look at the existing interpreting teaching programmes. The role of each member of the teacher/learner triad is addressed in the categories: learners, teachers and service users. The author concludes this article with the challenges that teachers and learners face during training.
