This collective volume gathers eleven articles, all of which are dedicated to the issue of meaning in terminology. The questions of the relationship between the term and the word are tackled, in the way of defining the meaning of the terms (concept interlinks, signifié and referent, importance of the field), boundaries between specialized languages and general language. The whole of the contributions reveals the emergence of a new type of terminological research founded on the exploitation of the corpora, possibly multilingual. This new terminology dissociates tradition by its methods and its objectives. It tends to be descriptive rather than normative and lies within the scope of an approach that is openly linguistic.
