Abstract

As a result of recent education policies, schools in Russia today seem to focus mainly on national literature at the expense of translated works. Yet it is up to the secondary education to help the young discover cultures other than their own. The authors found it opportune, within the framework of school-college cooperation, to explore our experience with a workshop on literary translation and how it could be adapted to the new environment. The contents of this optional course, the benefits as well as the challenges of its implementation in a language high school in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) are the subject of the present article.
