Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to compile all the available general interpreting strategies and to show how they are jointly applied during the interpreting process, including by means of graphical representations. In describing the individual strategies, it will be noted where in the overall process and in which mode of interpreting – simultaneous or consecutive – they are particularly relevant. It is also explored the functional relationship between the different strategies. This is followed by a description of the didactic adaption of the strategies for the three fundamental learning levels in interpreter training.
