Abstract
This paper presents some of the issues in the transcription of interpreted texts. As the authors consider TV as a promising source of interpreting data, they discuss some of the problems involved in transcribing and encoding TV interpreting data in an interchangeable machine-readable format. These problems illustrate their proposals for a possible encoding standard.
