Abstract
In this paper, Kalina puts great emphasis on contingent professional, on-the-job aspects contributing to the quality of an interpreter’s performance. The author states clearly that discussions in this area cannot be based on target text viability alone. Attention should also be paid to a whole range of factors which may have an impact on quality. In the framework advanced by the author the different parameters are categories under three segments, i.e. semantic content, linguistic performance and presentation.
