Abstract
In this study Ingrid Kurz examines whether interpreters’ subjective impressions of the greater stressfulness of Live TV interpreting can be confirmed by physiological stress measurements. In a review of studies on stress, she points out three components that are usually focussed on: (1) stressors, (2) responses/ performance and (3) intervening variables. Secondly, she describes a pilot study examining the stressfulness of conference and media interpreting by using physiological parameters.
