Abstract
This chapter reviews the current literature outlining the importance of community in the quality of learning. The author shares her experiences with creating community in cohort-based programs for trainee interpreters, giving examples of assignments and tools utilized by these learning communities. Additionally, she examines the effectiveness of these methods based on the level of perceived connectedness among the cohort throughout their courses and upon graduation.
