Abstract
Digital technology is having a significant impact on formal and informal learning in interpreter education. Interpreting students are ever more often experiencing informal learning, for instance, on social media forums. Starting with the work of Alinsky, the author demonstrates how an understanding of community organizing frameworks can assist students in being both more reflective and effective in their online interactions. Additionally, he also explores activities that interpreter educators can use in classrooms to support students to successfully navigate social media.
