This section presents parts of ‘De optimo genere interpretandi’, the first book of De interpretatione (1661), written by Huet. The various fragments were translated into Dutch by D. Knecht. Huet's text contains a plea for literal translation. He explains why he prefers a word for word translation, on the condition that the target language allows for it.
