Abstract
The study compares three professional translators performing routine vs. non-routine tasks. The subjects' attitude and their text production strategies were investigated. The findings show that the link between attitude and translation quality is complex: in this study positive attitude seemed to be linked with perseverance and maintenance of high-quality text production goals, while negative attitudes led to giving up easily and settling for less satisfying solutions.
