Abstract
This case study discusses a Canadian government translator performing a routine translation task from English into French. The subject verbalises little, and her processing has to be inferred from the external behaviour recorded on videotape, which supports the early hypothesis of automatic processing by professional translators. The analysis deals with, among other things, the subject's global translation strategies.
