This article analyzes the film speech in the film Oča (Dad 2010), directed by Vlado Škafar and was shot in the Slovenian Prekmurje dialect. In general, the paper focuses on the dialectal speech realization of scenarios and the degree it matches the non-fictional reality recognised from the authors’ experience and scientific research of the Prekmurje dialect; and in particular, the extent to which it provides authentic real life speech.
