Abstract

This book aims to study translation in France during Classicism. Translation under the reign of Louis XIV is studied from an economic, political, social and artistic perspective, but the author also investigates, among other issues, Translation Studies in a linguistic and literary context and the intricacies of translation and translation practice in the seventeenth century.
