Abstract
The undergraduate course described in this chapter examines theoretical and practical approaches to translation from an interdisciplinary perspective. It constitutes an introductory survey of the field of translation studies for students majoring in literary and cultural studies as well as for those with academic interests outside of foreign languages and literatures. The structure and scope of the course offer a model for studying translation that includes but extends beyond literary criticism and linguistic approaches to translation.
