Abstract
The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of a translation department within a primarily technological environment. The article consists of three parts :the introduction, practice and a simulation of how to deal with 'impossible requests'. Throughout the introduction the authors tackle the types of texts that need translating in a department like Accenture's, tools available, obstacles and difficulties of translating for a multinational firm and resources that enable translators to guarantee both the quality of work and the meeting of established deadlines. The second part of the article aims to show translation students and professionals the level of quality required in the corporate sector in the 21st century. In a final instance, the simulation part can be a useful framework to show how to deal with clients and players outside the translation industry that require services drawing on a few anecdotes.
