Abstract

The aim of this book is to study the problem of translating proper names, more specifically between the language pair English-French. The book is divided into three main chapters: the proper name as signifiant (degrees of preservation), grammar and textual insertion of the proper name and finally proper names and meaning. The book also contains a corpus with translated texts.
