Abstract
The Internet is essential for the current translator, offering all sort of documentation and professional possibilities. Therefore, translators, especially beginners, should have their own web sites and the paper focuses on how to create one through 5 steps: 1) Defining the contents (curriculum vitae, services, rates and some bonus to attract visits, mainly translation-oriented links); 2) Developing the site (choosing a programme which allows combining graphics and text); 3) Selecting the server (depending on price, speed, etc.); 4) Disseminating its existence (placing it in the most important search engines); 5) Being active on the Internet (updating the site, answering e-mails, joining forums, etc.). The paper ends with some briefly annotated URL's.
