In this article the authors present general problems encountered in bilingual terminology extraction. Using French and English as the language pair to illustrate their discussion, they first try to show how the specifications of terms in two different languages impact the alignment process. This will lead them to review three methods they believe to be well adapted to bilingual terminology extraction. Lastly, the authors discuss parameters a bilingual alignment model should integrate.
