Abstract

Based on the adaptation of Gile's effort model to translation presented by Silvia Parra in this volume, the author has developed a series of exercises to make the most of the heterogeneity of mixed language student groups and the subsequent implications for translation direction. The specific objectives of these exercises, based on self and peer revision, are the following: a) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of future translators; b) to develop students' self confidence; c) to contribute to the development of their translation competence.
