Abstract

The twenty-seven contributions in this volume focus on the position of German as conference language in the countries of the European Union, the training of simultaneous interpreters and the ‘Euromaster’ programme for conference interpreters, the training situation in the European Union countries of Eastern-Central Europe, legal interpreting, community interpreting and interpreting for NGOs, new technologies (DigiLab), note-taking and the evaluation of the interpreting profession. This takes on an ever-increasing role in the course of integration and migration processes. Issues on translation-scientific theory formation and empirical research are discussed with a constant view on the various requirements of practice.
