Abstract

Eight translations of the Sonnets to Orpheus were analyzed, associating them with what is known about the writer, his reception in Spain and his current status in both Spain and Germany. The author concludes that seven of the translations are faulty, and that only José María Valverde's translation reflects the beauty of the source text.
