Abstract

This paper concerns the issue of Dutch translations of Chinese classics in view of re-translations. The author examines the entire corpus of Dutch re-translations from a European language in the first half of his article, and in the second half, by looking at how Dutch translators struggled free from the influence of a ‘major’ language like German.
