Abstract
The author suggests some theoretical and practical methods for training high-quality translators, drawing on her experience as a lecturer at the CBS in economic and financial text translation. After defining quality, the author proceeds to look at barriers to quality by analyzing translation errors made in financial texts, grouping errors according to type. Next follows an analysis of the translation process to indicate how strategies may be made more efficient and result in improved quality of the end product. The author also looks into translator qualification requirements and gives an outline of the CBS MA program in translation and interpretation.
