Abstract
The article wants to highlight the transcendence of translation for society in general, at a time when the tendency is to engage in international exchanges. The article poses the hypothesis of the relationship between quality translations and the degree of cultural development in a society. The analysis of this hypothesis is verified through data gathered from different areas and disciplines, proving the crucial role translation plays in cultural planning.
