Abstract

The article gives a brief history of the translation of children's literature - both publishing-houses and titles - into Spanish. It also points out some features of such translation: acceptability and textual conventions. Translations for children are defined for their acceptability by children, the translators' scope for creativity, and the function as a bridge between cultures.
