Abstract

The article studies the motto of the medieval Arabic Kingdom of Granada (Spain, 13th-15th centuries). This motto has been presented in various similar versions born of the confrontation between Islam and Christendom. It attempts to revise our knowledge of the original Arabic text and contribute to its interpretation as a step towards its translation. It also wants to contribute to the history of religious and political discourse in Arabic Spain in the Middle Ages from its own inner logic.
